Inclusion Criteria  (All criteria are present)
  • Clinical findings of ear discomfort
  • Acute onset
Exclusion Criteria
  • Obvious external cause of ear pain
  • Complex otologic history or surgeries (excluding tympanostomy tubes)
  • Toxic appearing
  • Any new neurologic abnormality
  • Concerning signs for mastoiditis
